Chamber Music
The Sydney Marimba Weekend is a unique opportunity to meet marimbists from all over Sydney. During a dedicated Chamber Music session, small groups of participants, who have just met one another, are given a short time to prepare an ensemble piece without a conductor or director. Simpler repertoire allows participants to concentrate on essential chamber music skills such as active listening, leading, following, reacting and balancing. These pieces are performed in the Gala Concert.
